Molecular biology, chemical and genotyping databases
| Database Name | tool access | Description | FTP access (CRS4) |
|---|---|---|---|
Molecular Biology |
|||
| GO & PO | POGO | Access to POGO - the local interface to the Gene Onotology databases (GO) and to the Plant Ontology Database (more...) | |
| splicing database |
SpliVaP | Splice-mediated changes in protein isoforms database, developped by the Genomics and Disease Research Group |
|
| EnsEMBL | The EnsEMBL database is installed locally in the Bioinformatica computers. It is possible to ask for an account in the MySQL database, to access directly the Ensembl database using SQL and your own tools or the ensembl API. | ||
| dbSNP |
The dbSNP
database is as a central repository for both single base nucleotide
subsitutions and short deletion and insertion polymorphisms, maintained at NCBI. We are developing a new set of tools to access this database |

| PubMed | LaPsuS | Litterature advanced Pubmed search utilities from Sardinia: a web interface for querying PubMed at NCBI with multiple keywords, in a friendly manner. (more ...) | |
MicroArray Databases |
|||
| BASE | BASE | We Have installed BASE the BASE - BioArray Software Environment which is a comprehensive free web-based database solution for the massive amounts of data generated by microarray analysis. It is released under the GNU General Public License. | |
Chemical Databases |
|||
| chEBI | We are looking into the chEBI database as a model for chemical databases in biology. The Chemical Entities of Biological Interest (ChEBI) is a freely available dictionary of molecular entities focused on ‘small’ chemical compounds. The term ‘molecular entity’ refers to any constitutionally or isotopically distinct atom, molecule, ion, ion pair, radical, radical ion, complex, conformer, etc., identifiable as a separately distinguishable entity. The molecular entities in question are either products of nature or synthetic products used to intervene in the processes of living organisms. | ||
