Welcome to the CRS4 Bioinformatics Laboratory!
The Laboratory was
established in 2006 to do fundamental research in computational
biology, and to provide bioinformatics and educational services to the
Sardinian life sciences community (both within the Technology Park
managed by Sardegna Ricerche at Pula and Alghero, and elsewhere in
Sardinia). It provides essential IT applications and
resources for bio-medical research, particularly for personalized
medicine.
The Laboratory currently consists of 20+ people representing a wide
range of expertise and experience in bioinformatics and related
scientific disciplines. These people constitute a rich resource for the
bio-medical research community in Sardinia.
This Web site has two purposes:
- to explain to potential customers of our services what we do,
and how we can help them to build their businesses and to perform their
research and product development more effectively
- to
provide an integrated and easy-to-use portal to a wide variety of
standard management and analysis tools for bio-medical data, as well as
more specialized tools and data bases which are particularly relevant
to, or customized for, the scientific activities of our customers.
The current customers of the Laboratory are a cross-section of the
life-science companies active in the science park, with disciplines
encompassing pharmaceuticals, vaccines, biotechnology, basic life
science research (e.g. in genotyping) and nutrition.
