Our basic mission is to help promote the development of bio-medical industry in Sardinia. We can do this by helping to reduce the large investment of time, money and expertise which is usually required to develop an IT infrastructure to support research and product development.
To this end, we provide a wide range of computational and database management services, specifically designed to support the research and development activities of small and medium-sized companies in the bio-medical sector. To supplement these online services, we also offer consultancy and custom software development services which will help our customers define and develop custom solutions for their specific needs. We also provide training and education services which aim to improve the level of skills of people working for our customers.
In order to ensure that the Bioinformatics Laboratory remains at the forefront of bio-medical informatics, we also undertake an extensive programme of research. Some of this research is carried out jointly with customers, while the remainder aims to address specific scientific questions relevant to our customer base. We also collaborate with scientific groups elsewhere in Sardinia, Italy and the wider world.
