Our goal is to make your research and development activities more effective. To this end, we offer a number of different types of services:

Computational Resources

Experience has shown that companies often run into trouble when it is time to scale up a "proof of concept" data management or analysis software to production use. Not only is there the cost of buying the appropiate technology platform, there is also the cost of making sure that your applications are optimized to run most effectively on that platform. Since much software is developed by people who are not trained in software engineering, unexpected problems can easily surface at this stage.

We have built a significant computational and data management resource which is available to you at no cost. This resource is far larger than most smaller companies could think of building for themselves. In addition to the cost of the computing platform, there is also the potentially large cost of space, air conditioning and electricity. And of course there is the cost of hiring, or training, the staff to run these facilities. Add to that the need to ensure data integrity and recovery, and you can see why using a third-party service may well be more cost effective and reliable than doing it yourself. Custom Development

Your business is research and development of bio-medical products, not IT. So you may not have the time, the money or the people to undertake development of analytical or data management software which is specifically suited to your needs. As well as providing a wide range of community-developed software, our services team also has extensive experience in adapting software to specific needs, or writing software from "scratch". We can work with you to develop your requirements specification, and then translate that into productive and reliable software for your exclusive use. Progetto Cluster

Cluster projects are tools created by Sardegna Ricerche to stimulate companies and research groups working in the same area, to find innovative process and production solutions. Research, training, experimentation and technology transfer are coordinated actions to be performed to pursue this aim.

The purpose of the Bioinformatics Cluster project is to add resources to the Bioinformatica web site, according to the interests of the Cluster's subscribers. This includes:

• installing existing software, or developing new software and databases for applications not currently supported
  
• arranging training workshops and seminars to provide the Cluster's users with knowledge of how to get maximum value out of the resources provided by the Cluster.

We also know that finding well-trained IT people is not easy or cheap. We can, through a programme of seminars, workshops and training courses held within the Technology Park, help train your staff to deal with advanced information technology, so that you can eventually become self-sufficient.
